Indian Army organises cricket match

Imphal, July 21 2024:
In the run-up to the Silver Jubilee of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Indian Army organised an exhibition cricket match on Sunday in Kumbi, Bishnupur district.
The match played between Khuga Athletic & Library Association (KALIB) Club and Kumbi Cricket Club (KCC) at Saitapur.
The event began with the introduction to the Kargil Vijay Diwas and tribute to the gallant heroes of the 1999 Kargil War, followed by a flag hoisting ceremony.
The 10-over match concluded with the Kumbi Cricket Club (KCC) emerging as the winners.
They were awarded and cricket kits were distributed to the participating clubs.
Later, a short movie on the success of Operation Vijay was screened for the children at the Brightway Shelter Orphanage in Kumbi.
The children were presented sports kits to encourage their participation in sports, according to a press release from the Ministry of Defence (Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh) .
