YWC-L, PTCC victorious in MNCAU-14 Boys Tournament

YWC, Langthabal beat Shadow CC, Thangmeiband by 13 runs as PTCC,Patsoi notehed up a huge 124 run victory against YPHU, Lalambung Makhong today in the ongoing 1 st MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament.
At PCC ground-Mayaikoibi, YWC-L got bundled out for 163 runs in 26.5 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first but rode on Yumnam Athouba's five wicket haul to restrict Shadow CC to 150 runs for the second win in the tourney.
YWC had a cautious start with Soirokhaibam Thoungambam (10) and Poireingamba Sapam (23) trying their best but took a sudden dip with Chinglemba removing Poireingamba and
Y Achouba (1) before Thoungamba was trapped lbw by S Telheiba in the 12th over.
Yumnam Sushil did his best to keep the scoreboard ticking with a quick fire-57 but had to see his partners fall cheaply before going out himself for the seventh wicket.
Yumnam Brightson also added 20 runs late on in this innings which saw Thomsan, Sagatpam Lanchenba and Haobam Chinglemba sharing two wickets each.
In the chase, Sagatpam Lanchenba struck 57 in 70 balls and Devish Khunjamayum scored 26 runs for Shadow CC but Y Athouba (5 for 30 in 6 overs) and Yumnam sushil (2/26 in 3 overs) forced their rivals to succumb within 22.5 overs and just 14 runs away from the win.
Yumnam Athouba who all out in 26 .4 overs thanks to Somabanta's 3 wicket haul for the big win.
Dhirendrakumar (46) and Hiras Akham (21) also make significant contributions in PTCC's tally after being put in to bat first.
Gurumayum Prince (2/35) picked two wickets in PTCC's innings while his compatriots-Bishal Ningombam, Irungbam Tonton, Suraj Sagolshem and Gaichuingam Gangmei shared a wicket each.
YPHU had a steady start in the chase but got derailed after Bishal Ningombam was trapped lbw by Devas Tongbram who also bowled out Birbal for the third wicket.
Somabanta (3/12 in 5.4 overs) then broke the back YPHU batting line up before closing out the innings in the 27th over.
Lanleiba of PTCC who topscored with 80 runs was adjudged man of the match.
Tomorrow, ESU will play TRAU at PCC ground in the 16th match of the tournament.
