Adamas University clinch East Zone inter university women's football title

Adamas University recorded a resounding 4-1 win over University of Burdwan to emerge champions of the East Zone Inter University Football (Women) Tournament 2024-25 on Tuesday at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
Leading her team's impressive victory, Mousumi Murmu scored all four goals, starting with an opener in the 24th minute, adding another in the 42nd, completing her hat-trick in the 50th, and sealing the win with a final goal in stoppage time.
University of Burdwan's Priya Baski provided an early strike with a consolation goal in the 7th minute.
In a later match, Adamas University secured an additional point with a 1-1 draw against LN Mithila University.
Anjali Kumari gave LN Mithila University an early lead just three minutes into the game, but Adamas University equalised in the 20th minute with a goal from Rimpa Haldar, ending the match in a stalemate.
Mousmi Murmu (Adamas University) finished as the top-scorer, Rimpar Kumari (Adamas University) was named best player, and Khushi Kumari (LN Mithila University) earned the best goalkeeper trophy.
Vidyasagar University claimed second place with a commanding 5-1 victory over LN Mithila University.
Barnali Mahata scored twice, while Sujata Mahala and Surmita Khara added a goal each, complemented by an own goal from their oppo -nents.
LN Mithila University's Anjali Kumari scored their lone goal, and the defeat saw LN Mithila University secure third place.
