ESU, PCC win big; SHADOW beat YPHUC in MNCA U-16 cricket

ESU (Wangkhei Palace Compound) and PCC (Mayai Koibi) recorded comprehensive victories in 5th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Singh Memorial Trophy 2024-25 on Tuesday.
ESU overpowered SCCC (Singjamei) by 218 runs in their meeting at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Electing to bat, ESU set a formidable score of 279 all out in 30 overs, bolstered by Hanjabam Naona Sharma (58 not out), Hanjabam Donba Sharma (38), Sandham Abhinash Singh (26), Akoijam Sangba Singh (25), Devashree G (19), Thokchom Simesh (18), and Soibam Sayonba Singh (15) .
The Wangkhei team then bowled out SCCC for 61 in 21.3 overs.
Yumkham Yoirelba shone with the ball, taking 6 wickets, with Akoijam Sangba contributing 3 and Hanjabam Naoba adding 1.Th Borish led the bowling for SCCC, taking 4 wickets.
Meanwhile, PCC delivered an all-round performance to defeat YESSDAN by a staggering 273 runs at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-III Cherapur, Thoubal.
After electing to bat, PCC posted a massive 293/8 in 36 overs as Lucky Thokchom's 107 led from the front, supported by Lamnganba Nongmaithem (36 not out), Maverick Wakambam (29), Rahis Khan (26), Simon Konthoujam (17), and Rojer Laishram (15) .
PCC's bowlers then dismantled YESSDAN's batting lineup for just 20 runs in 14.2 overs, led by Lamnganba Nongmaithem's 6-wicket haul, with Ziad Khan adding 2 and Leishangthem Nelson and Rojer Laishram each taking 1 .
At Khudeiband Lampak, SHADOW (Thangmeiband) narrowly defeated YPHUC (Lalambung Makhong) by 17 runs.
Despite being bowled out for 139 in 31.1 overs, SHADOW managed a successful defence, thanks to contributions from Devis Khu-njamayum (23), Sagatpam Lanchenba (22), Arubam Goshan Singh (18 not out), and Yohenba Konjengbam (13) .
SHADOW's bowlers secured the win by dismissing YPHUC for 122 in 26.2 overs, with Sagatpam Lanchenba and Sagatpam Telheiba each claiming 3 wickets, and Arubam Goshan Singh and Reyan David Ngairangbam picking up 1 wicket each.
Earlier, YPHUC's Birbal Irom led their bowling with 6 wickets, supported by Irom Sunny with 3 .
