3rd North East Zone Shooting Championship : A Goutam, W Julia, Ajai H bag 6 gold medals

Imphal, September 18 2015 : Wahemgbam Julia, A Goutam Meitei and Ajay Huidrom, bagged two gold medals each as Manipur leads the medal tally in the ongoing 3rd North East Zone Shooting Championship being held at the Shooting Range, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal.

As on Friday, Manipur was leading with a total of 31 medals (13 gold, 11 silver and 7 bronze) while Assam followed behind with 16 medals (5 gold, 4 silver and 7 bronze).

Mizoram stood at third position with 5 medals (2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze).

Meghalaya and Nagaland represented by Aries Rifle & Pistol Shooting Academy won 1 silver medal each.

A Goutam Meitei of Manipur won the gold in Air Pistol (NR) Championship 10m Junior Men Individual with a total 361.He also bagged the gold in the Air Pistol (NR) Championship 10m Youth Men Individual with atotal 361 again.

In the .177 Peep Sight Air Rifles (NR) Championship Junior Women Individual and .177 Peep Sight Air Rifles (NR) Championship Youth Women Individual, Wahengbam Julia of Manipur bagged the gold medals with a score of 371, 371 respectively.

Ajai Singh Huidrom of Manipur too won the gold medals in the 25m Standard Pistol Jr Men (ISSF) National Championship individual and 25m Standard Pistol Men (ISSF) National Championship individual.
