13th Annual Sports Meet kicks off

Noney, January 18 2022: The 13th Annual Sports Meet under the theme "Championships are won through Practice" organised by Rangkhung Youth Club kicked off on Tuesday at Rangkhung Part-3 playground.

Poujian Riamei, social worker, was as the chief guest of the opening event while Adin Phaomei, AI, ADC/Tml, attended as guest of honour.

The 5-day long sports meet includes football (both men and women), volleyball (both men and wo men), tug-of-war, shot put, javelin throw, high jump and long jump etc.

Altogether, 7 men's football teams and 8 women's football teams, and 12 men's volleyball teams and 9 women's volleyball teams are competing in the sports event.

During his speech, chief guest Poujian Riamei mentioned the importance of sports in the society and its benefits to individuals.

He exhorted the sportspersons to take up sports with dedication to become professional rather than occasional player and bring laurels to the community.

In the opening match, Rangkhung Part-2 (B) team beat Rangkhung part-3( B) Team by a 4-1 margin.
