KIWT: Sasang's double opens Phungtin's winning account, Ngambom defeat Jonlhing

Kangpokpi, January 15 2022: Two brilliant strikes by Sasang gave Phungtin Veng Ward No 15 their first win over Moltinchan Veng Ward No 12 in the ongoing 18th Kangpokpi Inter Ward Tournament 2022 at Brig M Thomas Kangpokpi on Saturday.

It was Moltinchan Veng who found the opening in the 6th minute through Thanggin Touthahg and led the game till Sasang found the equalizer in the 14th minute and added another in the 67th minute in a fascinating second half.

Despite multiple goalmouth chances, Moltinchan forward failed to equalize till the last minute.

In the second match, Ngambom Veng (Ward No 8) had their second win as they registered an easy 2-0 win over Jonlhing Veng Ward No 2 after defeating Enjakhup veng Ward No18 (4-2) in the opening day on January 13.As it started with a brilliant note, Ngambom's striker Seibem found the lead before the end of the first half in the 36th minute while Manggou added another brilliant goal in the second half as the team had a better comeback in the second half.

With two wins, Ngambom Veng have 6 points to jump to the lop table of Pool B in main football.

There will be no match tomorrow being Sunday a holiday.

On Monday, veteran, under-15, and women's volleyball match will also start apart from the main football.

In the main football, on Monday, Khupting Veng Ward No 11 will play Enjakhup Veng Ward No 18 in the second match and Dr GG Crozier Mission Compound Ward No 10 will play Sipinthei Veng Ward No 7 in the fourth match.

In the veteran category, Kholmun Veng Ward No 14 will play Sipinthei Veng Ward No 7 in the first match while Lamdil Veng Ward No 5 will play Jonlhing veng Ward No 1 in the third match.

In the Under-15 category, Chengjapao Veng Ward No 4 will play Ngambom Veng Ward No 8 in the morning at 8:00 am.

In women's volleyball, Ngambom Veng (A) team will play Japhal Veng in the first match and Dr GG Crozier Mission Compound will play Kholmun Veng in the second match.
