AR, media play friendly cricket match

Imphal, April 10 2022:
In continuation with the efforts of Assam Rifles to reach out to all the sections of the public, Keithelmanbi Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a friendly cricket match with media persons at Keithelmanbi garrison on Saturday.
According to PRO IGAR (S) the match had healthy participation of correspondents from all major dailies of the Manipur region.
The cricket match provided the platform for healthy interaction and aligning of efforts of the Assam Rifles and media towards the common goal of peace and tranquillity in the region.
On the other hand, Sehlon Battalion of IGAR (S) constructed a football ground at Aivomjang village in Chandel district under Assam Rifles' Civic Action Programme and handed over to the village authorities on April 7 .
To promote Khelo India initiative among locals, the football ground was prepared, said the PRO in another release.
The effort lives up to the essence of Khelo India' initiative which aims to revive the sports culture in India at the grassroots level by building solid framework and encourage sportsmanship among the local youths.
As part of handing over ceremony, a friendly football match was also organised.
