6th Gospel Youth Soccer kicks off in Tamenglong

Tamenglong, October 08 2015: With an aim to encourage gospel-oriented sports persons among the youth and to bring about multi-faceted revival through sports.

the 6th Gospel Youth Soccer formally kicked off here at Mini Stadium, Tamenglong District Headquarters.

The opening ceremony was graced by Joseph Pauline, ADM Tamenglong and Chief Executive Officer ADC Tamenglong as Chief Guest.

The 6th Gospel Youth Soccer 2015 is being hosted by Immanuel Baptist Church Tamenglong.

The objectives of the soccer tournament are to help the youth to achieve excellence in sport and promote peace and unity besides developing them spiritually and physically. As many as 26 teams from 20 churches of Tamenglong sub- division will be participating in the event.

It may be mentioned here that the Gospel Youth Soccer was first organized by Town Baptist Church Tamenglong since 2010.It was handed over to Immanuel Baptist Church Tamenglong for the last three consecutive years.

In his speech as Chief Guest, Joseph Pauline said that Gospel Youth Soccer is a common platform to train and change personnel life.

Joseph said, "Youth have potential, have longer future and they are powerful in the society.

While the time at your hand, choose to celebrate life, otherwise you will regretted.

Work is worship; we are serving God by doing our duty." Gaichangsui Gangmei, Executive Secretary, Zeliangrong Evangelical Fellowship (ZEF) shared short gospel message.

Meanwhile, Town Baptist Church Tamenglong (Gospel Soccer Team) sent a message that all athletes had to abide by the rules to receive the crown and "likewise Christianity has rules to be followed in order to inherit the eternal Kingdom of God" .
