MPA beat RRCC by 1 wicket in MNCA Plate Tournament

Imphal, December 29 2024: MPA narrowly defeated RRCC by one wicket in a tightly contested low-scoring match during Sunday's action in the 9th MNCA Plate Tournament at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-Ill, Cherapur.

Opting to bat first, RRCC were bowled out for 148 runs in 32.3 overs, thanks to MPA's disciplined bowling attack.

Th Chinglensana, Huidrom Dhanashyam, and Vivekraj Chabungbam each claimed two wickets, while Yumnam Sheiteendra and Naorem Britain picked up one wicket each.

RRCC's batting effort was led by Louriyam Elan, who scored 32 runs, followed by Kh Dekey with 22, and Bineto who contributed 18 runs.

In reply, MPA successfully chased down the target in 31.2 overs, finishing with one wicket remaining.

Key contributions came from Chingtham Albish (21), Yumnam Sheiteendra (21), Vivekraj Chabungbam (18 not out), Naorem Britain (17), Huidrom Dhanashyam (13), and Raneshwar Thounaojam (6 not out) .

For RRCC, Bineto was the standout bowler, taking 4 wickets, while Irfan Khan supported with 2 wickets in a losing effort.

In the other match of the day, SSU received a walkover against KIYC, securing an automatic win.
