Ashwajit Senjam finishes U-14 singles runner up at Asian Jr Tennis C'ship

Imphal, August 25 2019:
Manipur's Ashwajit Senjam missed the U-14 singles title at the Asian 14 and Under Series Tennis Championship 2019 as he went down 2-6, 1-6 to Arunava Majumdar in the final yesterday after earlier round successes.

Ashwajit defeated Mayand Tewary 6-1, 6-3 in the first round of the championship which was sanctioned by Asian Tennis Federation and organised by Jorhat Tennis Club under All India Tennis Association and went on to beat Kriish Ajay Tyaagi 6-4, 6-3 to advance into the quarter finals.
In the quarter final the State lad outlasted Harshad Borah 6-2, 6-2 before earning the final berth as his opponent Manan Nath retired injured in the semi-final.
He also reached the pre-quarter final stage in the doubles competition.
