CDC crush OSCAR SU by 9 wickets in 6th MNCA Plate tourney opener

Imphal, July 18 2022: CDC, Sagolband cruised to an easy 9 wicket win over OSCAR Sporting Union, Paona Bazar as the 6th MNCA Plate Toumament kicked off today at Langthabal Public Ground under the aegis of Manipur Cricket Association.

Put in to bat first, OSCAR SU were dismissed for a meagre 62 in just 16.1 overs as CDC bowlers ran through their batting order.

CDC then eased to the target within 7.3 overs with 9 wickets left to spare.

Robin Irengbam (13) and Telem Kumar (12) were the only batters who managed to add double digit runs for OSCAR as wickets kept falling in regular intervals.

OSCAR fell to 30 for 6 as Naoroibam Prithichand (2/7 in 3 overs) caught and bowled both Khruso (5) and Premeshowr (2) and Raj Kumar Robindro (2/29 in 7 overs) trapped London W (3) lbw, set up Sorokhaibam Samson (2) run out and bowled out Nongmaithem Bijendro (1) .

Mutum Jodiba then (3/14 in 4.1 overs) swept the tailenders to restrict OSCAR SU to 62 for 10 in 16.1 overs.

Needing 63 for the win, Mutum Jodiba (30) and Thounaojam Rakesh (22 not out) punished the OSCAR SU bowlers before Jodiba holed out to Premeshowr off Bijendra Singh as the scoreboard read 61 in 6.4 overs.

Rakesh and Priyojit (0 not out) then finished off the chase in the 3rd delivery of the 8th over to give CDC a 9 wicket win in the Group A competition of the 10-team tournament.

Judiba who produced an all round performance was eventually adjudged man of the match.

IBS A, Yumnam Leikai will play YWC-Patsoi in the Group B opener tomorrow at Langthabal Public Ground.
