NCA cruise as THAU eke out win in MNCA Plate Tournament

NCA enjoyed an easy day, while THAU struggled past their opponents in the 9th MNCA Plate Tournament 2024-25 on Tuesday.
NCA romped to a 95-run victory over YAC at Lairenjam Public Ground.
Electing to bat, NCA posted a competitive total of 236/7 in their 35 overs.
Angom Robinhood was the star performer in their innings, smashing an unbeaten 98 off 78 balls.
Rk Rojeeson did his bit with 35, while Roshan Konthoujam made 17, Chourjeet contributed 13, and Pradeep Takhellembam, Bobby Yumnam and Moirangthem Karamchand each added 11 to their total.
For YAC, Huidrom Gune-shwor shone with the ball, taking four wickets.
NCA took 26.5 overs to bowl out YAC for 141 for their comprehensive win.
L Sadananda spearheaded the bowling attack that earned him five wickets, while Amarjeet Rajkumar claimed two scalps, with Chourjeet Rk and Angom Robinhood chipping in with one apiece.
Indrakumar Wayenbam (35) and Abocha Laishram (24) were the main performers in YAC's futile run chase.
THAU, meanwhile, edged out MPA by one run in a thrilling finish at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-Ill Cherapur.
MPA opted to bat first and were bowled out for 146 in 28.4 overs.
Yungkham Ortega Roy was the leading bowler for THAU, claiming four wickets, while Kh Romesh took three and Hanjabam Joykishan Sharma captured two.
Washington also contributed with one wicket.
MPA's Huidrom Dhanashyam Meitei was the standout batter, scoring 66 runs.
In response, THAU struggled in their chase but managed to eclipse the opposition's total by one run in 32.4 overs, losing nine wickets in the process.
Key contributions came from Khundrakpam Aden (43), Yohenba Thoudam (19), Hanjabam Joykishan (19), Hanjabam Diamond (18), and Yungkham Ortega Roy (17).MPA's Huidrom Dhanashyam Meitei took four wickets, but his efforts were in vain as THAU emerged victorious in a closely contested match.
