FC Rengdai stun Mohammedan to clinch Mohan Gupta Football Tournament title

Imphal, November 12 2024: FC Rengdai clinched the title of the 33rd Mohan Gupta Football Tournament-2024, organised by the District Sports Association (DSA), Silchar.

The tournament, which began on November 4, featured six teams: North East United FC, Len-rawl FC, FC Rengdai (Manipur), Mohammedan Sporting Club, Aizawl FC (Mizoram), and Senapati FC (Manipur) .

In a closely contested final, FC Rengdai pulled off a 2-1 victory over Mohammedan Sporting Club, FC Rengdai, claiming the championship trophy and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.

The winning team's goals were scored in the first half by Th Hani and Sagar, establishing an early lead that they maintained through to the end of the match.

This win marks a significant milestone for FC Rengdai, established in 2022, as it is the first time the club has won a tournament championship.

Adding to the club's triumph, team member W Rojen was named Player of the Tournament, while Givson Kamei earned the Man of the Match award for his exceptional performance in the final.

The victory is a proud moment for FC Rengdai and a testament to the club's growth and determination since its inception.
