MODEL, REYS win big in MNCA Men's U-23 Trophy

MODEL delivered a resounding 191-run victory over YPHUC in the 2nd MNCA Men's U-23 Haobam Biramangol Singh Memorial Trophy.
Opting to bat first, MODEL set a challenging target, posting 324 runs in 37.2 overs before being bowled out.
The innings was powered by a stellar knock from Bisal Ningombam, who smashed 77 runs off just 44 balls, including 8 fours and 4 sixes.
Captain Thoudam Deepak Singh also played a crucial role, scoring 75 runs off 55 balls, while Biyon Naorem contributed a quickfire 37 off 19 deliveries.
YPHUC's bowlers struggled to contain the onslaught, with Irom Sunny Singh and Irom Ishor taking 4 wickets each, but at a high economy rate.
In reply, YPHUC's batting lineup faltered under pressure, collapsing to 133 all out in 33.5 overs.
Irom Sunny Singh top-scored with 64 runs, but the rest of the team failed to build partnerships.
Dibak Naorem was the star with the ball for MODEL, claiming an impressive 5 wickets for just 21 runs, supported by Thoudam Deepak Singh, who took 2 wickets.
REYS recorded a comfortable 7-wicket victory over SHADOW in another league match.
SHADOW, batting first, were bowled out for 192 in 38.3 overs.
Yendrembam Bharatngamba Meitei scored a steady 54 runs off 60 balls, while Arubam Goshan Singh added 35 runs.
However, the rest of the lineup struggled against REYS' disciplined bowling attack.
Yungkham Romario Roy was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 wickets for 26 runs, while Sapam Bikash Singh chipped in with 3 wickets for just 20 runs.
In response, REYS chased down the target with ease, reaching 195/3 in just 23.3 overs.
Ringku Kangujam led the charge with a blistering 69 off 44 balls, including 7 fours and 2 sixes, while captain Sapam Bikash Singh remained unbeaten on 56 off 61 deliveries.
Yungkham Romario Roy also contributed with a quick 49 off 23 balls at the top of the order.
SHADOW's bowlers found it difficult to contain the aggressive batting, with Sagatpam Lanchenba and Sagatpam Telheiba taking a wicket each.
