KDC, Abungnikhu move to quarterfinals

Chandel, October 08 2015: Kapaam Development Club (KDC) and Abungnikhu have moved into the quarterfinal rounds after defeating rival teams on Thursday at the ongoing Phantu Cup 2015 being played at Maha Union Government Higher Secondary School ground.

Taking the field first, KDC thrashed Kanankhu 4-2.Gyan (24) open the account in the 6th minute.

Darshing (7) in the 8th minute double the score line to 2 and his team mate Rungden (23) added another goal in the 30th minute.

Riding on the lead, Darshing in the 38thminute added his second goal to help his team won by a margin of 4-2.On the other side, two of the goals for Kanankhu were scored by Wolnihring (10) in the 31th and 52th minute.

During the second match, Abungnikhu defeated Paraolon 2-1.Of the two goals for Abungnikhu, Betil (5) and Henry (19) scored for their team in the 32 and 36th minute.

For Paraolon, Graceson (15) netted the lone goal.

It may be mentioned that after the end of Round 1, Pool- A teams including KDC, Kanankhu, Liwachangning, LYCC-A, Angkhelchayang, Chamdil Khupi-B,RMS and OSU,whereas, Pool-B teams including Parolon, Abungnikhu, Chengkhu, Riverlane, Kankhu Athletics, Monsang Pantha, Phunchung, and Unopat have qualify for Round 2 matches which would go on till October 12 .
