KI Girls' League: Youth WC crush KFA 12-0 as ESU, YWC split points

Imphal, May 08 2024: Youth Welfare Club (YWC) inflicted a 12-0 hammering to Khuman FA (KFA) while Eastern Sporting Union (ESU) and The Young Welfare Club (YWC) played out a 2-2 stalemate in Wednesday's action of the Under 17 Khelo India Girls' Football League 2023-24 Imphal.

Namram Lamnganbi Chanu scored four goals in YWC's 12-0 demolition of KFA.

Lamnganbi collected her four goals with strikes in 6th, 27th, 52nd and 68th minutes while Leikangbam Russia Chanu (46, 59, 67) netted a treble, with Wairokpam Monika Devi (27, 30) and Melody Wangkheirak-pam (77, 80) contributing two goals each in their emphatic win.

ESU came from behind to salvage a 2-2 draw against YWC.

Julan Nongmaithem gave YWC the lead in the 6th minute, but Longjam Nira Chanu equalised for ESU in the 11th minute and teammate Naorem Henarita Devi converted in the 40th minute to give ESU the upper hand, only to be cancelled out by Remi Thokchom's leveller for YWC in the 70th minute for the 2-2 result.
