Indian footballer Elangbam Panthoi Chanu felicitated

Indian footballer Elangbam Panthoi Chanu was felicitated by Leimarembi Village Level Federation, Keirak Mayai Leikai on Sunday.
Panthoi Chanu, who plays as a goalkeeper for Australia's Meto United WFC, hails from Keirak Makha Leikai, Kakching district.
The felicitation event, organised by the Leimarembi Village Level Federation (established under Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM), was attended by Panthoi Chanu's mother Elangbam Shanti Leima, who is also Keirak Gram Panchayat pradhan, up-pradhan Yumnam Ratan Meitei, Kha Football Academy Keirak founder and coach Thongram Khunjangambi Chanu, and others.
Elangbam Panthoi Chanu has made 24 national and 27 international appearances in her career, earning around six awards.
Panthoi started her career at Women Football Academy, Kakching before moving to Eastern Sporting Union, Imphal East.
She is the second goalkeeper from India to play for a club outside of the country and the first Indian to play professional football in Australia, playing for the Metro United Club.
