WYC, FORCE triumph in Superplate Tournament

Imphal, December 22 2024:
WYC and FORCE emerged victorious in their respective league round matches of the 4th MNCA Superplate Tournament 2024-25 on Sunday.
In a low-scoring contest at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal, WYC triumphed over TCMDC by 40 runs.
WYC, put in to bat, were dismissed for a modest 103 in 26.3 overs.
Only Priyananda Thokchom (30), Mangi Sharma (18), Huirongbam Biteshwor (12), and Ruhit Nongmaithem (10) reached double figures.
For TCMDC, Suraj Khairbam and Laishram Valindra impressed with the ball, each claiming three wickets, while N Arbin and Huirongbam Babulu took one wicket apiece.
Despite their low total, WYC's bowlers delivered a dominant performance, dismissing TCMDC for just 63 in 17 overs.
Suraj Khairbam (24) and Maibam Ashokumar (21) were the only notable contributors for TCMDC in their unsuccessful run chase.
Wanghkhem Laksmon and Huirongbam Biteshwor played pivotal roles in WYC's victory, with Laksmon claiming five wickets and Biteshwor taking three, supported by Thoudam Roshankumar's solitary wicket.
Meanwhile, FORCE secured a 2-wicket victory over RULE at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground.
RULE, opting to bat first, were bowled out for 149 in 34.5 overs, with Jay Singh top-scoring with 66, supported by Sanjenbam Ananda's 22 .
FORCE's bowlers, led by Mutum Shushil, Arbin Khuhdrakpam, and Tashib Alam, each took two wickets.
In response, Naeem NA7 led the chase for FORCE with a knock of 56, guiding his team to the target in 33.5 overs, with two wickets to spare.
Contributions from Sarfaraz (17), Tashib Alam (16), Fajirul Haque (10 not out), and Md Kabir Ahmed (10) ensured the win.
RULE's efforts were led by Leishangthem Bishorjit, who claimed an impressive five-wicket haul, but it was ultimately in vain.
