Nabkishwor Memorial Football: PRNC, CFC wins league matches

Imphal, May 21 2015 : Quarterfinals battle lines have been drawn with the league matches coming to end in 2nd Late K Nabkishwor Memorial Football Tournament that is being organized by Western Panthoibi Club (WPC), Angtha on Thursday.

PRNC, Poirou Knongjil and CFC Heirok recorded victories on the last day of league matches against their rivals.

PRNC, Poirou defeated PLNC Poirou Khonjil 3-1 .

PRNC victory rode on the performance of Julia who scored two goals in 17th and 42nd min of the match.

Tony Keishing added one goal in 38th min PRNC's team score.

K Boby scored a consolation goal for PLNC in 52nd min.

CFC Heirok overcame WPC Angtha in 2-1 .

WPC took the early lead through K Rocky in 23rd min and walked into the breather with the lead.

CFC came back strongly after the break to get the equalizer.

The effort results in N Bo scoring the equalizer in 40th min.

The goal suddenly shifts the momentum of the match in favor of CFC and they mounted numerous attacks.

WPC wilt under the sustained pressure and M Oken scored the winning goal for CFC in 52nd min.

WPC did tried to come back into the match but their effort came too late.

MIFC Tentha, Group A winner, will play TMMA Tulihal, Group C runners up, in the first quarterfinal match on May 23 .
