TCMDC, RCA have it easy in MNCA Superplate tourney

TCMDC and RCA recorded comprehensive wins in Tuesday's league round matches of the 4th MNCA Superplate Tournament 2024-25.TCMDC inflicted an 8-wicket thrashing on PSC in their encounter at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Electing to held first, TCMDC restricted PSC to 110/9.N Arbin led the scalping with three wickets while Suraj Kharibam and Thongam Nganthoi picked up two each, with Laishram Valindra and Sarangthem Priyobrata taking one each.
In PSC's innings, Laishram Devwart (32 not out) and Ibungomacha Hijam (24) were the notable run-getters.
In reply, TCMDC comfortably chased down the target in 14.5 overs, reaching 111/2 .
Suraj Kharibam played a pivotal role, remaining unbeaten on 54 .
Rain Uriikhimbam contributed 32, while Sarangthem Priyobrata was not out on 18 .
The side lost two wickets during their chase: one each to Laimayum Prasantajit Sharma and Chungkham Kenny.
In the other match, RCA hammered PCC by 99 runs at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground.
RCA, opting to bat first, were all out for 193 as Naesh Hussain top-scored with 45, supported by Aziz Mirza (26), Syed Hussain (23), Md Imran Khan (22), Zamin Khan (20), Md Masirshah Alam (13) and Md Safwan Ahamed (13) .
In the process, they lost two wickets each to L Chingkheihunba Meitei, Naorem Johnson and Longjam Ronald Meitei, and one each to Thokchom Anand and Mairembam Lucky Meitei.
In response, PCC wilted under pressure, folding for just 94 in 26.4 overs.
RCA's bowlers put in a disciplined performance, with Aziz Mirza, Nasirshah Alam, Naesh Hussain, and Illiyas each taking two wickets.
Zamir Khan also chipped in with one wicket.
Longjam Gibson (37) was the lone standout for PCC in their disappointing chase.
