Unbeaten CDC to face KIYC in Plate cricket semis

CDC (Sagolband) wrapped up their league round campaign unbeaten to emerge Group A winners in the 6th MNCA Plate Tournament as the Sagolband set up semifinal date with KIYC.
CDC ended their last league match with a five-wicket drubbing of SSU (Singjamei Kakwa) at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
The Sagolband side registered a four-game unbeaten run to finish atop Group A standings with eight points.
UCC (Uripok) finished behind with six points from four matches and also qualified for the semifinals.
In their last league match on Tuesday, CDC bundled out SSU for 136 in 39.4 overs and chased down the target in 34.1 overs.
SSU's innings saw Sujeet L score 36, Sougrakpam Douglas make 34 and Chungkham Gugu Singh contribute 11.CDC's trio of Kshetrimayum Robert, Md Ataur Rahaman and Mutum Jodiba picked up two wickets each as Khursid Alam, Asif and Geerish Kang-bam chipped in with one each for their team.
After their fine bowling performance, the Sagolband side comfortably completed their chase courtesy of contributions from Priyojit Narengbam (46), Salam Pinky Singh (24), Ma Ataur Rahaman, (22) and Kshetrimayum Robert (20) .
In the process, CDC lost two wickets each to Chungkham Gugu and Saikhomba Thongam and one to Khomdram Rahuldev.
Kshetrimayum Robert earned himself the man of the match trophy for his 20 runs and two wickets.
In the day's inconsequential Group B match, YAC beat WYC by six wickets.
CDC and KIYC will square off in the first semifinal on Thursday (August 18) at Langthabal Public Ground while IBSA and UCC will be in action in the second semifinal on August 19 .
