RCA, YWC script easy victories in MNCA Superplate Tournament

RCA and YWC secured convincing victories in Friday's league round matches of the 4th MNCA Superplate Tournament 2024-25.RCA registered an emphatic 88-run win over FORCE at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal, while YWC outplayed TCMDC by 55 runs at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College.
Electing to bat, RCA posted a total of 172/9 in their allotted 35 overs.
The innings was anchored by Md Alfash, who top-scored with a resilient 61.Contributions from Zamir Khan (21), Illiyas (19 not out), Naesh Hussain (16), and Md Safwan Ahamed (11) ensured a competitive total.
FORCE's bowling unit was led by Mutum Shushil, Arbin Khundrakpam, and Tashib Alam, each claiming two wickets, while Mohammad Islauddin and Saddam Ahmed Shah took one apiece.
RCA's bowlers then delivered a clinical performance to dismiss FORCE for just 84 runs in 20.2 overs.
Mohd Nasirshah Alam Nongjai-mayum spearheaded the attack with three wickets, supported by Danish Khan and Zamir Khan, who picked up two wickets each.
Illiyas and Naesh Hussain chipped in with one wicket each.
For FORCE, Naeem NA7 (19), Saddam Ahmed Shah (17), and Najir Ali (17) were the only batters to reach double figures, as their chase faltered comprehensively.
In the second match, YWC set a formidable target of 193/6 after opting to bat.
Seram Robinson led the charge with an impressive 69, supported by Jiko Sorokhaibam (29), Ngangbam Bikramjit (23), Pukhrambam Rohit Khuman (20 not out), Nepram Herojit (16 not out), and Maibam Subash (15) .
TCMDC, in response, managed 138/9 in their 35 overs, with Rain Urikhimbam's 41 and Takhellambam Nganba Meitei's 21 being the main run-getters.
YWC's bowling attack was led by Yumnam Chingkhei Nganba, who took three wickets, while Pukhrambam Prashantamani and Ngangbam Bishwash claimed two each.
Maibam Subash also added a wicket in YWC's triumph.
