Wushu C'ship organised by Army concludes

Imphal, February 11 2024:
In collaboration with the Wushu Association of Manipur, the Indian Army organised a week-long Wushu Championship from February 4 to 10, 2024 at Toronglaobi village, Bishnupur district.
The event drew an overwhelming number of young boys and girls from the region.
The concluding ceremony of the championship was presided over by Roshibina Devi, Arjun Award recipient and Asian Games silver medallist in wushu.
Roshibina Devi expressed her gratitude to the Army for promoting the sport in the region, with focus on youth.

(GOC) Red Shield Division felicitated Roshibina Devi.
Winners and runners-up were also awarded with medallions and certificate of appreciation.
The participants and spectators lauded the initiative of the Indian Army and requested for conduct of more such events and sports competitions to foster healthy competitive spirit amongst the youth of the area.
The GOC, while addressing the gathering, lauded the glorious contribution of the state of Manipur in sports in international and national arenas.
He also appreciated the participants for their grit and dedication towards the sport of Wushu, said a press release from the PIB (DW) .
