Imphal, May 08 2024: Chumbang FC thumped PUSA 7-1 as Ziontlang beat PTSC 2-1 in the semifinals of the CANA Football Tournament at Ziontlang village, Chandel on Wednesday.

Both Richard and Alungpu scored twice in Chumbang FC's 7-1 drubbing of PUSA in the first semifinal of the tournament.

Richard opened the scoring for Chumbang in the 8th minute before PUSA responded with a 29thminute equaliser by Franky.

Richard found his second goal in the 41st minute to regain Chumbang's lead as Ahong put them further ahead in the 43rd minute before Daimas (52) and Jonathan (69) converted to make it 5-1 .

Then it was all up to Alungpu who rounded off the scoring in style with a double (71, 74) as Chumbang FC earned a smooth passage to the final.

Ziontlang, meanwhile, scored at both ends to register a 2-1 win over PTSC for their place in the final.

Franklyn put Ziontlang ahead after three minutes, but Malchong levelled the score for PTSC in the 48th minute before Mk Henry netted in the 61st minute to ultimately turn the tide in favour of Ziontlang.
