Cricket: Manipur thrash Sikkim in Cooch Behar Trophy

Manipur recorded a comprehensive 8-wicket win over Sikkim in their Cooch Behar Trophy 2024-25 match on Thursday at Lal Bahadur Shatri Stadium, Anand, Gujarat.
After electing to bat first, Sikkim were dismissed for 150 in 60.1 overs, largely due to an impressive bowling effort from Manipur.
The trio of Md Aqeel Ahamed, Joyhenba, and Punsiba Mangang each claimed three wickets, with Rain adding one to the tally.
Sikkim's innings was highlighted by Aadnan's 72, while Rohit contributed 36, and Inzamamul added 16 .
In reply, Manipur outpaced their opponents, reaching 163 in 45.2 overs.
Robinson led with a solid 59, followed by Md Aqeel Ahamed (22), Kaiku, who remained unbeaten on 21, Alikarim (16), and Danish (13) .
Aadnan struck with five wickets for Sikkim, while Inzamamul and Rohit took two each, and Parvin claimed one.
Sikkim managed 98 runs in their second innings, bowled out in 40.1 overs with Deepak providing the lone resistance with a resilient 52.Joyhenba was the standout bowler for Manipur, taking six wickets, while Kaiku took two, and Md Aqeel and Punsiba each added one, setting up Manipur's path to victory.
Manipur then reached the target comfortably at 88/2 in 19.5 overs for their commanding win.
Md Aqeel anchored the innings with a steady 50, with support from Alikarim (17 not out), Max (13 not out), and Robinson (8).In the process, both Md Aqeel and Robinson fell to Aadnan.
