SU, KU, SSAS progress in East Zone Inter University Badminton Tournament

Sambalpur University (SU), University of Kalyani (KU), and Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University (SSAS) advanced to the next round of the East Zone Inter University Badminton (Men) Tournament, which got underway at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.
The first singles match of the opening day was contested between SU's Tahasif and Sekhavat Pradhani of Shaheed Mahendra Karma Vishwavidalaya (SMKVV) .
SU secured victory in both sets, winning 21-9 and 21-6 .
The next singles match saw Bhavishya Ku Singh of SU face Prakhar Sahu of SMKW, with SU prevailing by a score of 21-10 and 21-7 .
In the first doubles match, SU's Subham Nathni and Tahasif teamed up against SMKW's Gourav Mourya and Sekhavat Pradhani.
SU won the match with a scoreline of 21-11 and 21-14 .
With victories in both singles matches and one doubles, Sambalpur University earned three points and progressed to the next round.
In match number 2, University of Kalyani (KU) competed against Vinoba Bhave University (VB), Hazaribag.
The first singles match featured Avrakanti Majumdar of KU against Pawan Gopal of VB.
KU claimed victory in a close-fought match with set scores of 21-15, 21-23, and 21-16 .
The second singles saw Ritam Shil of KU face Ashwini Kr Singh of VB, where KU won convincingly with a scoreline of 21-10 and 21-6 .
The first doubles match was played by Avrakanti Majumdar and Dip Sarkar of KU against MD Musharib and Pawan Gopal of VB, resulting in a win for KU with a consistent score of 21-10 across both sets.
KU advanced to the next round with three points, securing wins in two singles matches and one doubles.
Match number 3 featured TM Bhagalpur University against Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University (SSAS).
The first singles match was between Manav Kumar of TM Bhagalpur and Shivadeep of SSAS.
Shivadeep emerged victorious with scores of 13-21 and 9-21 in the first and third sets, while Manav Kumar managed to claim the second set with a close score of 23-21 .
In the second singles, Rishu Kumar of TM Bhagalpur faced Bitupan of SSAS, who won both sets by 9-21 and 18-21 .
The doubles match featured Abhiraj Kumar and Rishu Kumar of TM Bhagalpur against Bitupan and Shivadeep of SSAS, with SSAS winning both sets at 14-21 and 9-21 .
SSAS won three out of five matches and advanced to the next round.
In match number 4, Siksha O Anusandhan (SOA) was scheduled to play against West Bengal State University (WBSU).
However, WBSU did not show up, resulting in a walkover awarded to SOA.
