Manipur end SMAT Group C campaign with 8-wicket loss to Himachal Pradesh

Manipur ended their Group C campaign in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 with an 8-wicket loss to Himachal Pradesh this evening at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC, Mumbai.
Manipur, who ended their five game losing streak by defeating Arunachal Pradesh in the previous match, posted a modest total of 134/7 but Himachal Pradesh cruised to the winningl35 in just 13.5 overs courtesy of Shubham Arora's unbeaten knock of 72 runs in 46 balls (9 fours and 2 sixes) .
K Priyojit topscored for Manipur by posting 41 off 3 7 balls.
His knock included 4 fours and 1 six.
Chingakham Bidash 23, Pheiroijam Jotin 16, RK Rex 15 and Ahmed Shah 13 not out also made double digit figures today.
K Abhinay starred with a three wicket haul (3/31) for Himachal Pradesh as Arpit Guleria (2/28) and Mayank Dagar (2/20) shared four wickets between them.
In the chase, Himachal Pradesh had a steady start with Shubham and Ankit forging 43 runs for the first wicket before Shubham and Mridul Surroch (36 runs off 13 deliveries; 5 fours and 2 sixes) forged the highest 49-run partnership for the second wicket.
Shubham Arora and Mani Sharama (14 not out) then gathered another 43 runs together for the team to finish off the chase.
For Manipur, Bishworjit Konthoujam and L Kishan Singha chipped in with a wicket apiece.
