Wushu medallist W Pinkyrani feted

Wayenbam Pinkyrani who won Manipur a bronze medal in the 70 Kg Sanda event in the 68th National School Games Under 17 Boys and Girls Wushu Championships at Jammu and Kashmir was received with a rousing welcome at Imphal today.
Wayenbam Pinkyrani hails from Moirangkampu Maning Leikai, Imphal East, and is the daughter of Wayenbam Solendro and Wayenbam ongbi Leirentombi.
Her family, localities and friends received her at the Bir Tikendrajit Imphal International Airport today.
Later, Moirangkampu Union Club (MUC), Moirangkampu Development Committee (MDC) and Moirangkampu Nupi Thoudang Lup (MNTL) feted her at a function held at the Meira Shanglen at Khewa bazar.
Wishing more laurels in the future, the MUC, MDC and MNTL promised all assistance to the medal winner in all her endeavours.
The games at J&K were held from November 21 to November 26 .
She played three matches in her weight category.
She defeated Jharkhand's Malika Sai first and then West Bengal's Taniyakumari before losing to Maharashtra's Ahilya Vate.
She received training under Mayanglambam Bimoljit.
