CDCC, FORCE triumph in MNCA Superplate Tournament

CDCC and FORCE emerged the victors in Friday's league round matches of the 4th MNCA Superplate Tournament 2024-25.CDCC notched up a convincing 4-wicket win over UCC in their Group A match at Model Hr Sec & Oriental College Ground.
UCC, electing to bat first, posted a total of 198/7, with notable contributions from Haobam Ajitkumar (52), Thangjam Anson (40), Thokchom Amarjit (28), and Laishram Roshan (25).Mutum Jodiba led the CD-CC's bowling attack, picking up 3 wickets as Thoudam Monet took 2, with Khurshid Alam and Mandingbam Surjit bagging 1 .
In reply, CDCC completed the chase in 31.1 overs as Priyojit Monish starred with the bat by hitting 95, while Mandingbam Surjit was unbeaten on 31, with Thoudam Monet and Ataur Rahaman contributing 19 and 14, respectively.
They lost 6 wickets in the process.
Meanwhile, FORCE beat PCC by 2 wickets in their Group A encounter at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Batting first, PCC were restricted to 159/7 as Bobby Khangembam (41), Charoibam Tyson (40), Longjam Gibson (32), and Longjam Ronald (20) made significant contributions.
FORCE's disciplined bowling attack, led by Fajirul Haque and Mohammad Islauddin, who each took 2 wickets, kept the total within reach.
Mutum Shushil, Arbin Khundrakpam, and Sarfaraz also claimed 1 wicket apiece.
In response, FORCE experienced a middle-order collapse but were guided to victory by solid contributions from openers Naeem NA7 (29) and MM Nawau Sarif (24), along with valuable support from Islauddin (36), Najir Ali (28), and Zaheer Khan (5 not out) .
FORCE reached the target of 160 in 25 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process.
For PCC, Rohit Soubam (3 wickets) and Longjam Ronald (2 wickets) were the leading bowlers in a losing effort.
