L Biten qualifies for Ironman Worlds

Imphal, August 25 2019: Laikhuram Biten has qualified for the World Ironman Championship due to be held on November 28 this year in New Zealand after his successful top order feat at the Asian Ironman 70.3 mile Championship held today at Bintan, Indonesia.

L Biten managed the top position in the 25 to 29 year category 18.9 km event at the said championship with a time of 1 hour 39 minutes which was well ahead of Jack Donovan (1: 1:41.19) and Jack Dickens (1: 45.14) .

The triumph at this Asian event which was participated by 804 athletes also earned him the 8th position in Asian Ranking.

Biten is the son of L Ramkumar and L Ongbi Subasini of Kongba Bazar.
