Manipur crowned Sarit-Sarak Fed Cup champs

Manipur emerged as the overall team champions of the inaugural National Junior/ Senior Sarit-Sarak Federation Cup 2024, which wrapped up on Sunday at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Solapur, Maharashtra.
On the final day of the competition, the state athletes added 18 gold and two silver medals to end their campaign with a remarkable haul of 38 medals, earning them 178 points to deservedly claim the championship title.
A total of gold medals formed the bulk of Manipur's overall medal haul, which also included three silver and two bronze medals.
Key contributors to Manipur's gold medal haul on the final day included H Hennithoi Singh, Haobam Sanuta Chanu, and Haobam Onika Chanu, each securing two gold medals.
Other gold medallists were Lanchenbi, L Anshita Devi, P Thongam, K Shivananda Singh, Ajit Sanjrambam, Nitish Chingakham, Y Tony, S Rohit, N Leishemba Mangang, S Babina Devi, Sapam Anjali Devi, and Soibam Babina Devi.
Hosts Maharashtra were a distant second with two gold, 12 silver and 13 bronze medals, while Delhi completed the top three with four gold, 8 silver and six bronze medals.
