Veteran cricket: Model Club (A) join Cyclone in final

Imphal, February 22 2015: Salam Cherish contributed with both bat and ball to guide Model Club (A) into the final of the Twenty 20 veteran cricket tournament, defeating NAPSA by 23 runs in the second semifinal on Sunday.

Model Club will take on Cyclone in the summit clash on February 28, 2015 .

After being sent into bat Model Club (A) piled up a competitive score of 146 for 7 in the allotted 20 overs.

The notable contributors in the innings were Mujibur Rehman (44 off 34 balls), Cherish (36 off 25) and Sunil (20 of 33).Gautam bagged two wickets and Puthiba and Rohikanta one each.

Cherish displayed good form with the ball too dismissing two NAPSA batsmen as their reply folded up at 119 for 6 in 20 overs despite two run-a-ball innings from Gautam (45) and Somerendro (28).Chaoba and Tomba grabbed one wicket each for Model Club (A) .
