Liwa, Lambung, Ghandel, Cheengkhu register wins in DC Chandel Trophy

Imphal, November 19 2021: Liwa Khullen, Lambung YCC, Chandel Khullen YC and Cheengkhu YC carried the day in the Friday's action of the DC Cha ndel Trophy Football Tournament.

Liwa Khullen needed a penalty shootout to scoop all three points at the expense of Ziontlang YC in a match played at the Chandel Sports Complex.

After the two teams ended in a 2-2 deadlock at full time, spot kicks decided the game in favour of Lilwa Khullen, who rose to the: penalty contest securing a 4-1 win courtesy of Jesse, Jacob, Homhring and Thimdon.

Later at the same venue, Lambung YCC prevailed over Liwa Changning YCC, also on penalties.

A1-1 stalemate forced a penalty shootout where Lambung triumphed 4-2 against their opponents.

The winnimg side won the shootout through Mosimla, Amjit, Shelpa and Ang-nahring.

In another match decided by penalty kicks, Chandel Khullen YC got the better of Hnahringkhu YC at Liwa Khullen Football Ground.

The squads were deadlocked at 2-2 at the end of regulation before Chandel Khullen held their nerves to beat Hnahringkhu 4-2 in the penalty shootout.

Nicky, Augustine, Phowlhman and Charvest all converted their shots to give their side the victory.

Later, Cheengkhu YC eked out a 2-1 win over New Wangparal YC.

Channa opened the scoring for Cheengkhu just minutes into the game but New Wangparal drew level in the 44th minute through Rengir before Thangkhanlal's 63rd-minute strike eventually sealed the 2-1 result for Cheengkhu.
