Cyclone defeats CRAU in Elite Cricket Tournament

Cyclone Thangmeiband defeated CRAU Khamnam Bazar by 29 runs in the group match of the 2nd Elite Tournament being played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium under the aegis of Manipur Cricket Association (MCA) on Saturday.
Cyclone won the toss and decided to set the target.
In the stipulated 35 overs, Cyclone posted a competitive score of 160 for 8 wickets.
Kenedy was the main architect of Cyclone inning with a score of 46 runs from 38 balls.
Homendro- 26 off 34 balls; Viteshar- 24 off 45 balls; Narsing -21 off 35 balls and Hiralal- 20 not out off 31balls were the notable contributors for the Cyclone total.
Sinet with 3 wickets was the chief wicket taker of CRAU bowlers.
Sinet was supported by Millan, Bode and Rakesh with 1 wicket each.
Chasing the target, CRAU batsman could score 131 runs by losing all their wickets.
Cyclone bowlers kept a tight line and length and denied CRAU batsman any free scoring chances.
With wickets falling at regular intervals from both the ends, Kh Bimol compiled a hard earned 30 runs from 47 balls and Millan 41 runs off 59 balls.
Other CRAU batsmen failed to perform and lost their wickets cheaply.
Accounting for 3 CRAU batsmen, Romen was the chief wicket taker among the Cyclone bowlers.
Romen was assisted ably by Alfred and Jempu with 2 wickets each.
William also chipped in with 1 wicket.
Kenedy of Cyclone was adjudged the Man of the Match for his fine batting display.
TRAU Kwakethel and YWC Langthabal will continue the action on Sunday at the same venue.
