PCC outclass AL-AMEEN, TCMDC beat PTCC in MNCA U-16 Boys' Trophy

Imphal, November 12 2024:
PCC dominated AL-AMEEN by 5 wickets, while TCMDC outplayed PTCC by 3 wickets in Tuesday's matches of the 5th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Singh Memorial Trophy 2024-25 .
At Moijing Public Ground (Thoubal), PCC's bowlers put on an impressive performance to dismiss AL-AMEEN for just 167 runs in 26 overs.
Leading the charge was Lamnganba Nongmaithem, who claimed 3 wickets, while Leishangthem Nelson Singh and Rojer Laishram each took 2 wickets.
Lucky Thokchom and Maverick Wakambam also contributed with one wicket apiece.
PCC chased down the target in 27.3 overs, finishing with 168/5.Maverick Wakambam played a pivotal role in the chase, top-scoring with 45 runs.
Rahis Khan contributed 25 runs, while Pebam Yoimayai made 24 .
Additional contributions came from Dilshan (18), Simon Konthoujam (13 not out), and Ziad Khan (3 not out) .
For AL-AMEEN, Umar was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets, while Shohei Akter picked up 2 wickets.
Earlier, AL-AMEEN's batting effort was anchored by Imtiyas Khan, who made 42 runs, followed by Shohel Akter (30 not out) and Makakmayum Rashid Ahamed (24), but these efforts were not enough to push the total beyond 167.With this victory, PCC consolidated their lead in Group A, accumulating 10 points from 5 matches.
RCA follow with 6 points from 4 matches.
TCMDC's 3-wicket triumph over PTCC in a Group D match at Lairenjam Public Ground was highlighted by Surchand Sapam's fantastic bowling effort.
Surchand's devastating spell of 5 wickets helped TCMDC remove PTCC batting lineup for a paltry 89 in 21.3 overs.
Nongshaba Sapam also got his name on the scoresheet with 2 wickets, with Vishonath Laishram, Yumnam Tomthinnganba and Niraj Sarangthem taking one each.
For PTCC, Somobanta (36) was the lone batter who scored in double digits during their poor innings.
In their response, TCMDC struggled to score runs consistently but managed to achieve the target in 27.1 overs for the loss of 7 wickets.
Vishonath Laishram led the chase, scoring an unbeaten 29, as Sanasam Himan Singh made 18 and Niraj Sarangthem added 16.For PTCC, Devas Singh Tongbram and Lanngamba Ningombam snapped 3 wickets each, while Roneljit Ayekpam, Somobanta and Dhirendakishore Naorem took one each.
TRAU currently lead Group D with 10 points from 5 matches.
SCC are in second place with 8 points from 5 matches, followed by PTCC (4 pts) and TCMDC (4 pts) .
