YPHU cruise past USA 3-0 as AFC, KLASA split points in Manipur State League

YPHU delivered a commanding performance to clinch a 3 0 victory over USA, while AFC and KLASA shared the spoils in a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong, in the ongoing 17th Manipur State League 2024-25 on Tuesday.
YPHU asserted their dominance early, with Ngo-ru Semi Moyon opening the scoring in the 42nd minute.
Buoyed by their lead, YPHU continued to apply pressure in the second half.
Ngoru Semi doubled his tally in the 58th minute, further strengthening his team's position.
As USA struggled to find a response, YPHU remained in control as Kangabam Lanngamba Singh sealed the victory with a well-tak-en goal in the 86th minute, ensuring a comprehensive win for YPHU.
Earlier in the day, AFC and KLASA engaged in an evenly contested battle.
AFC started on the front foot, taking the lead in the 18th minute through Wahengbam, who finished clinically after a well-constructed attacking move.
However, KLASA responded swiftly, and Mohammad Rigan Shah restored parity in the 37th minute with a composed strike, ensuring the teams entered halftime level at 1-1 .
The second half saw AFC regain the lead in the 80th minute when Suraj Wangkhem found the target with a precise effort, sparking celebrations among his teammates.
But the joy was short-lived as KLASA hit back just two minutes later, with Yumnam Arbind Singh scoring in the 82nd minute to secure a crucial point for his side.
