State veterans make strong showing on first day of National Masters Swimming C'ships

Imphal, November 10 2024:
Manipur demonstrated a strong performance on the first day of the 20th National Masters Swimming Championships 2024, held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, by winning five medals, including three gold.
Competing in various age categories, the swimmers from Manipur showcased remarkable skill and endurance on Sunday.
Veteran swimmer N Narjit Singh took the gold medal in the men's 100m freestyle in the 65-69 age group.
In the same age bracket for women, A Manbi Devi claimed gold medal in the 100m freestyle.
In the men's 70+ age group, Ksh Mangi Meitei added another gold to the team's achievements, dominating the 100m butterfly event with a winning performance.
In addition to the three gold medals, Manipur added a silver and a bronze to their medal tally.
S Mohendro Singh delivered a commendable performance in the men's 100m freestyle in the 75-79 age category, earning silver.
Additionally, Athokpam Ajoykumar Singh secured bronze in the men's 50m breaststroke in the 65+ age group, contributing to the state's overall success on the opening day.
