SS Mohring MT, Slumber Boots FC reach Cdl veteran football semis

Imphal, June 08 2022: SS Mohring MT and Slumber Boots FC progressed to the semifinals of the 2nd Veteran Football Tournament after their triumphs on Wednesday at Mini Stadium, Chandel.

SS Mohring MT earned an easy passage to the last four with a 3-0 win over Unapal FC.

Hb Wanghring turned out to be the hero for the winning side as he gave his side a resounding start with a 4th minute opener and then Wanghring went on to make it 2 0 in the 21st minute before Ch Danny completed the scoring in the 48th minute.

SS Mohring MT then kept their opponents off the scoreboard through the remaining min utes to emerge easy 3-0 winners en route to the semifinals.

Slumber Boots FC, meanwhile, overcame The Veteran FC in a penalty shootout to join SS Mohring MT in the last four.

Both teams were deadlocked at 2-2 at the end of regulation time arid the game went into spot kicks where Slumber Boots held their nerves to prevail 6-5 over their tough opponents.

In the shootout, Joanand, Warkhuhring, Zion, Jamhring, Bengam and Thangtha converted their shots to propel their team to the semifinals.

Earlier during the match, Veteran FC took the lead in the 29th minute courtesy of Mothawar but it was cancelled out by Thangtha in the 32nd minute.

Veteran FC regained their lead in the 35th minute through Angpaul but Thangtha equalised again for Slumber in the 42nd minute and forced the 2-2 draw.
