Jiri Police brush aside JYC 8-0 to move into quarter finals

Jiribam, January 08 2020: Jiribam Police ran riot across the defence line of JYC, Jairolpokpi to clinch a huge 8-0 victory in the opening pre-quarter final (Knock-out) match of the ongoing 1st Moirangthem Jodishchandra Memorial Invitation Football Tournament 2019-20 today at Jiribam Higher Secondary School Playground.

G Robert (28', 44', 87') took centre stage in this one sided match as he scored twice in the first half before completing his treble in the second half.

Ch Bipin was also at his best for Jiribam Police and hit a brace (13', 16') in the first half to ensure Jiri Police lead the first half 6-0 after Kh Somorjit had opened up the scoring account early in the 3rd minute.

G Golmei also added a goal in the 37th minute to help Jiri Police earn a 6-0 lead till the break while the other goal was scored by Surjit in the 49th minute before G Robert rounded off the scoring with a clinical finish.

Singerbond FA will play RYC, Ramjaizang in the second pre-quarter final match tomorrow at 2 pm .
