KSC beat XI-Star in first leg of Winners' Cup semifinals

Imphal, January 07 2022: KSC (Kangpokpi) pulled off a 2-1 victory over Xl-Star SU in the first leg of the 25th Winners' Cup semi-finals on Thursday at KSC Ground.

After a see-saw tussle for the major part of the first half, Ginminthang put KSC in front in the 37th minute but XI-Star almost immediately fought their way back into contention when Themyui levelled the scoreline in the 39th minute as the squads went into the second had tied 1-1 .

After the restart, back-and-forth exchanges almost lasted for the entire second period.

KSC rose to the contest in the final minutes.

It was Seineo who fired home the important goal in the 89th minute.

KSC and Xl-Star SU next play their semifinal second leg on January 8 while the same day pits UBFC (Churacahndpur) aganist PAMYAL (Imphal West) in a semifinal first leg.
