ZSYC emerge Cdl 1st Div League champs; DYC seal 2nd Div crown

Imphal, November 05 2024: Ziontlang SYC were crowned champions of the Chandel 1st Division Football League 2024, while Damjol YC clinched the 2nd Division League 2024 title.

Ziontlang SYC sealed the 1st Division League 2024 crown with a comfortable 3-0 win over Khongjon YC in the final played at Ziontlang village football ground on Tuesday.

Mk Rnglien (36, 67) scored twice while Pr Lungir (62) contributed a goal to help their side lay their hands of the winners' trophy.

Kenphashah Moyon (Kong-jon YC) walked home with the top-scorer award, Mk Renglien (Ziontlang SYC) was adjudged best player, and Mk Salemthang Chothe (Ziontlang SYC) received the award for best goalkeeper.

Earlier in the day, Damjol YC eked out a 1-0 victory over Chakpikarong YC to win the Chandel 2nd Division Football League 2024.Rengtinson turned hero as his 12th-minute goal eventually made the difference at the end of the game, scripting a memorable day for his team.

Sk Anthony LamKang (Damjol YC) earned the best player accolade, Jv Gou-len LamKang (Damjol YC) emerged as top-scorer, and Chimariya Benit (Chakpikarong YC) was named best goalkeeper.

The closing ceremony, celebrating both the 1st and 2nd Division Leagues, was attended by DC Chandel Mayanglambam Rajkumar as chief guest, S Somorjit Singh, CO 8th MR Leikun, and SP Chandel Shivanand Surve as guests of honour.
