AR embarks on boxing & taekwondo mentoring prog for Singhat youngsters

Assam Rifles has embarked on an initiative to mentor the youth of Singhat village, encouraging healthier and more purposeful lifestyles.
Through dedicated training programmes in boxing and taekwondo, the force is transforming the aspirations of local youth into a reality.
Currently, 65 individuals, including 4 women and 61 men, are engaging in boxing, while 72 others, comprising 15 women and 57 men, are honing their skills in taekwondo, said a press release from IGAR (S) .
Beyond physical fitness, these programmes are designed to instil values of teamwork, discipline, and mental toughness, which are essential for personal development.
To keep the competitive spirit alive and adopt the highest training standards, friendly matches are organised, fostering camaraderie and a sense of achievement among the participants, according to the release.
The initiative not only strengthens the bond between Assam Rifles and the local community but, also acts as a platform for talent discovery, nurturing future athletes who may one day shine on larger stages.
