KSDO, MPA seal emphatic wins in Plate Tournament

Imphal, January 04 2025: KSDO and MPA made light work of their respective opponents in Friday's fixtures of the 9th MNCA Plate Tournament 2024-25.KSDO produced an all-round performance to overwhelm KIYC by 326 runs in their Group A meeting at Lairenjam Public Ground.

The win propelled KSDO to the top of the group standings, displacing NAPSA due to a superior Net Run Rate (NRR), with both teams now tied on 12 points from eight matches.

KSDO posted an imposing total of 342/6 in 35 overs, powered by Tarique Aziz's 117 and Abdul Rafique's 101 .

Additional contributions came from Raish Raza (38), Arif Khan (30), and Shah Jahan (16 not out).

KIYC's bowlers - Saddam, Aabdulla Khan.

Thokchom Rajiv, Rabichandra Khundrakpam, Kawif, and Pikeshor Pheiroijam - each claimed a wicket.

KSDO then dismantled KTYC's batting lineup in just 10,2 overs, restricting them to a mere 16 runs, Lakimbur led the attack with a stunning 5-wicket haul, while Shah Jahan claimed 4 wickets and Rayajuddin added 1.At Cherapur, MPA recorded a commanding 84-run win over NAPSA in another Group A encounter.

Batting first, MPA posted 191/8, with key contributions from Huidrom Dhanashyam (47), Elangbam Rohit (37), Chingtham Albish (33), Yumnam Sheiteendra (12), Ree banta Yumnam (10 not out), Wahengbam Nareshkumar (10), and Lucky Elangbam (10) .

In their response, NAPSA were dismissed for 107 in 22 overs, despite a solid 35 from Heisnam Boney.

MPA's disciplined bowling attack, led by Vivekraj Chabungbam (3 wickets) and supported by Yumnam Sheiteendra, Th Chinglensana, and Chongtham Priyokumar (2 wickets each), sealed the victory for their side.
