KCDO thrash RRC by 134 runs, SU down THAU by 3 wkts

KCDO pummelled RRCC by 134 runs on Friday to climb to the second spot in Group A standings of the 9th MNCA Plate Tournament 2024-25 .
With the result, the Kongpal side are now 12 points level with NAPSA, who sit atop the Group A table on a superior NRR.
Batting first, KCDO set an imposing target of 263/7 in their allotted 35 overs.
Ajizur Rahman (73) and Devendro (71) led the charge, supported by valuable contributions from Bikram Phamdom (37) and Hafiz Imran (35 not out) .
Abdul Kayum chipped in with 12 runs.
For RRCC, the bowling efforts were spearheaded by Bineto, L Pravin Kumar, and Louriyam Elan, who each claimed two wickets, while Irfan Khan accounted for one dismissal.
KCDO's bowlers followed up with an exceptional display, bundling out RRCC for just 128 in 29.1 overs.
Netajit Konsam and Devendro were the pick of the bowlers, each claiming three wickets.
Kshetrimayum Day ananda took two scalps, while Ajizur Rahman and Mani Moirangthem contributed with one wicket apiece.
For RRCC, Louriyam Elan (40) and Bineto (26) offered resistance but could not salvage the chase.
In another Group A fixture, SU downed THAU by three wickets.
Despite the win, SU remain in eighth place with six points, trailing THAU due to an inferior NRR.
Opting to bat first, THAU managed 197 in 31 overs, with contributions from Khundrakpam Aden (40), Malesh Kumar Ngangbam (23), and Somorjit Loitongbam (20 not out) .
SU's bowling unit performed admirably, with Takhellambam Herojit, Kennedy Karam, Keisham Anderson, and Hijam Mex each securing two wickets.
Chasing 198, SU achieved the target in 25 overs, losing seven wickets along the way.
Loitongbam Naoton (34 not out) and Alen Angom (26 not out) steered their side to victory after key contributions from Kennedy Karam (38), Hijam Mex (29), Keisham Anderson (15), and Rajkumar Pritamkumar (15) .
Despite a stellar six-wicket haul by THAU's Kh Romesh, his effort went in vain.
