KASC, TCMDC, AKSDO & RCA book semis berths in MNCA Men's U-19 Tournament

Imphal, February 29 2024:
KASC (Khomidok), TCMDC (Thongju II Pechu Lampak), AKSDO (Khangabok) and RCA (Lilong) all progressed to the semifinals of the 2nd MNCA Mens U-19 Tournament after their respective quarterfinal triumphs on Thursday.
KASC earned their place in the semifinals with an emphatic 8-wicket victory over YWC (Langthabal) .
YWC, who opted to bat, got dismissed for 149 .
Heisnam Manikanta Singh top-scored with 42 in their innings.
Bm Afsar was the chief destroyer for KASC with 4 scalps as Md Aqeel and Bm Irfan picked up 2 wickets apiece, with Md Rahis Khan and Fm Sharif adding one wicket each.
In their response, KASC took 29.2 overs to achieve the target for the loss of 2 wickets.
Md Aqeel contributed significantly to his team's victory, scoring an unbeaten 87 alongside Muhammad Ali Karim (39 not out) and Md Sharif Khan (11) .
Yumnam Achouba Singh dismissed both Sharif Khan and Mustaque (0) for YWC.
TCMDC, on the other hand, made short work of CRAU (Khamnam Bazar) in their quarterfinal encounter, beating their opponents by 10 wickets.
TCMDC bowled brilliantly to bundle out CRAU for a meagre 89 in 22.3 overs before finishing the job in 11.4 overs.
Rain Urikhimbam and Albert Sorokhaibam led the scalping, claiming 3 wickets each.
Nepram Richer Singh did his bit with 2 wickets and Ringku Kangujam took one.
Then Rain Urikhimbam (48 not out) and Pukhrambam Rohit Khuman (35 not out) stayed unbeaten TCMDC to lead their side to a resounding victory.
AKSDO brushed aside Al-Ameen (Lilong) by 8 wickets to book their semifinal berth.
A collective bowling performance led by Laishram Nirash Singh, who picked up 4 wickets, helped AKSDO bowl out Al-Ameen for 67 in 20 overs.
Akash Laishram, Laishram Nungshiba Singh and Saikhom Kaiku Meetei were the other contributors, grabbing 2 wickets each, to lay the foundation for AKSDO's win.
In their chase, AKSDO completed the task in 11 overs with scores from Bishorjit Mangang (29), Saikhom Lanchenba Meitei (21 not out), Winchelly Laishram (4 not out) and Laishram Samson Meetei (3) .
RCA, meanwhile, beat PTRC (Patsoi) by 3 wickets for their place in the last four.
Electing to bat, PTRC were all out for 97 in 30.4 overs.
For RCA, Naesh Hussain snapped 4 wickets, Danish Khan collected 3 wickets, Md Alfash took 2 and Aziz Mirza got one.
RCA then achieved the target in 22 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process.
Aziz Mirza (28), Naesh Hussain (16) and Imran Khan (14) were the main contributors in their run chase.
Jotin Singh Pheiroijam grabbed four wickets in PTRC's defeat.
