Vengthah fete volleyball champions

Kangpokpi, February 28 2018: Denizens of Vengthah Ward No 3 Kangpokpi DHQs felicitated its men's and women's volleyball players who scripted a record in the recently concluded 14th Kanggui Inter Ward Tournament 2018 by becoming champions both in men's and women's volleyball.

The felicitation ceremony was organized under the aegis of Vengthah Volleyball Champions Felicitation Committee who also congratulated and motivated the players while promoting brotherhood, peace and harmony among all denizens of Kangpokpi DHQs.

Paominthang Doungel, EO (Town), SHADC Kangpokpi graced the felicitation ceremony on behalf of ADC Sadar Hills Chairman Haokholal Hangshing as chief guest while Chonkam Kipgen, Chairman Kangpokpi Town Committee and Paoneilal Khongsai attended the function as president and guest of honour respectively.

Vengthah Ward No 3 achieved various feats in the 14th Kanggui Inter Ward Tournament, 2018 which was held from January 16 to February 10 including men's and women's volleyball titles, best players men's and women's volleyball and Miss Personality and Photogenic in the Kanggui Youth Day Celebration 2018 Mr & Miss Contest.

Players of both men's and women's volleyball including the two best players were impressively awarded with costly memento congratulating them for their record breaking victory and achievement by the felicitation committee .

The committee also recognized the immense contribution of journalists of the town and Administrators of The Kanggui Post, Kanggui's hometown WhatsApp News, an honest voice of the Kanggui towards the society and the town.

Vengthah is the oldest locality (Veng) in Kangpokpi DHQs established back in 1964 much before the introduction of Ward in the town.

Rev Thangboi David, Pastor Methodist Church, Vengthah Kangpokpi performed the blessing service of the felicitation ceremony and volleyball players while dedicating the offering from the participants.

Local artiste Hoineineng Samte and Hatneithem Kipgen enthralled the crowd during the program while Khannou Gol and Kanam Jem presented cultural dance. A love feast marked the occasion.
