Veteran T20 Cricket Tourney CYCLONE beat CHAMP by 11 runs, lift trophy

CYCLONE, Thangmeiband lifted the champions trophy of the 4th Manipur Veteran T20 Cricket Tournament after defeating CHAMP, Khagempali by 11 runs, today at Langthabal Ground, Imphal West.
The closing ceremony of the tournament organised by the Manipur Veteran Cricket Association (MVCA) was graced by MVCA advisor RK Bidur Singh, MVCA vice president A Birendra, MVCA patron Ch Chaoba Singh and Manipur Cricket Association (MCA) secretary S Nando Singh as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
In today's final match, CYCLONE won the toss and opted to bat first and set a 143 run target with four men down in the allotted 20 overs.

Rajesh was the highest scorer of CYCLONE as he scored 56 runs off 46 balls.
Thoithoi scored 38 runs off 49 balls while Shashi (25) and Roben (10) were the other notable scorers.
CHAMP's Gopal took three wickets.
Batting second, Tejbanta's impressive 64 runs off 61 balls went in vain as CHAMP failed to chase the target as they managed only 131 runs in the allotted 20 overs with five wickets down.
The other main scorers were Rajiv (24) and Mohan (14) .
CYCLONE's Arun scalped three wickets while Rajesh and Roben grabbed a wicket each.
Ng Rajesh of CYCLONE was named the man of the match and he was awarded a cash prize of Rs 500.Champions CYCLONE were awarded a cash prize of Rs 12,000 and a rolling trophy while CHAMP received a cash prize of Rs 8000 and a trophy.
Semifinalists DSU and NAPSA were awarded a cash prize of Rs 1000 .
T Bhogendro of NAPSA clinched the man of the series title while Shamu of Model Club-A and T Bhogendro of NAPSA bagged the highest wicket taker and highest scorer awards respectively.
