5th N Rajningthou Memorial Trophy : TRAU, MPA open winning account as Al-Ameen cruise to second win

TRAU, Kwakeithel and MPA, Thounaojam registered first group stage victories as Al-Ameen, Lilong eased to their second win in the ongoing 5th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Singh Memorial Trophy 2024-25 .
Mutum Swabhiman enjoyed a five-for in ESU's 78-run victory against CYSA, Khangabok in a Group C league match staged today at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground.
TRAU won the toss and erected a respectable total of 225/7 in 35 overs thanks to identical 40 runs added by Potsangbam Jeet and Huiningshumbam Luching and rode on Mutum Swabhiman (5/35 in 6.5 overs) and Preethson Arubam (3/19 in 7 overs) to dismantle CYSA line up and bowl them out for 147 runs in 24.5 overs.

For CYSA, N Abungcha 2/25, W Atomba 2/39 and N Sanamacha 2/47 were leading wicket takers before W Aijak scored a half century (45-ball 62) in a lost cause.
M Swabhiman was adjudged player of the match.
In the Group B league match staged at Khudeiband Lampak, Taothong, Elangbam Sanatomba claimed 5 wickets to lead MPA, Thounaojam to a commanding 152 run victory against RULE, Meitram.
MPA won the toss and elected to bat first this morning.
They however were bowled out for 185/10 in 30.4 overs as S Indrakumar (3/11), Ng Nongpoknganba (2/18), Kh Sanjaikar (2/20) and N Denin (2/43) were at their best.
For MPA, Rojit Thoudam 33, Th Chinglensana 26 and Chongtham Sitaranjan 26 made the most of the scores before Sanatomba (5/7 in 5.4 overs), Ch Muhinikanta (3/50) and Ch Sitaranjan (2/17) stunned RULE batters to bowl them out for a meagre total of 33 runs within 18.4 overs.
Only Indrakumar 12 was the double digit run getter for RULE in the chase as 7 of the batters went out on duck.
E Sanatomba was declared player of the match.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, Al-Ameen defeated YWC, Langthabal by 43 runs for second straight Group A win in the tournament.
Al-Ameen opted to bat first and faced stiff opposition from YWC bowlers before being bowled out for 158 runs in 28.5 overs.
They however produced a better and economical bowling performance to bundle out YWC for 115 runs in 21 overs.
Shohel Akter 36 and Imtiyas 34 were the leading run getters for Al-Ameen in the innings that saw Yumnam Sushil 4/14 and Yumnam Brightson 3/25 sharing 7 wickets.
For YWC, Seram Tondonsana 19, Yumnam Achouba 18 and Yumnam Athouba 17 managed double digit scores in the chase that saw three of the batters got run out.
For Al-Ameen, Umar enjoyed a three wicket haul (3/38) as Shohel Akter (1/10 in 6 overs), Md Duwa Aziz (1/13 in 6 overs), Makakmayum Rashid Ahamed (1/6 in 1 over) and Arish (1/27 in 2 overs) picked a wicket apiece.
Shohel Akter who added 36 runs and picked a wicket was eventually adjudged player of the match.
