33rd State Polo Tournament : K&MM-A, NMPC victorious

Imphal, October 29 2017: K&MM Riding School-A beat Khurai Polo Club-B by a margin of 7-5 while Nambul Mapal Polo Club downed Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club 7-4 in today’s matches of the ongoing 33rd N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament 2017 organised by Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association at Mapal Kangjeibung .

The third match between Tentha Polo Club and Chingkheihunba Polo Club-A scheduled at 3 pm was postponed due to rain .

In the first match, Khurai Polo Club-B reigned the first chukker 3-0 against K&MM-A.Nongpoknganba struck twice and Th Nanao contributed one goal to take the 3-0 lead .

However, A Ranjan and O Sheityajit of K&MM-A pulled back two goals in the second chukker but Th Nanao of Khurai Polo Club added one more goal for his team to make the scoreline 4-2 .

The third chukker proved disastrous for Khurai Polo Club as L Dhaneshor, A Ranjan and O Sheityajit struck three goals to reverse the lead making it 5-4 in favour of their team .

A Ranjan who had already two goals in the last two chukkers struck two more goals against one goal made by A Bisheshor Sharma of Khurai Polo Club-B in the fourth chukker.

Ultimately the match ended 7-5 in favour of K&MM-Riding school-A .

In the second encounter between Nambul Mapal Polo Club (NMPC) and Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club (TYPC), the former took the lead from the first chukker onwards.

Th Momocha starred in the match as he struck five goals for NMPC .

The first chukker ended 3-0 in favour of Nambul Mapal Polo Club.

L Tarun, Th Momocha and Chinglensana scored one each to take the lead .

Th Momocha of NMPC and Abung of TYPC scored one each making the scoreline 4-1 in favour of NMPC after the second chukker.

The third chukker ended 6-2 with two goals from Th Momocha of NMPC and one scored by Iboton Sharma of TYPC .

In the last chukker, NMPC struck one goal through Th Momocha while P Premjit and Abung struck one each for TYPC to make the scoreline 7-4 in favour of NMPC.
